Bizar Bazar live on Radio B92
Three members of Bizar Bazar were guests at the “Brakus od 3 do 5”, cult radio show on Radio B92. They’ve talked about their music, background, collaborations, process of creation, and played three songs live & acoustic.
One of the most famous and craziest Serbian radio hosts Igor Brakus opened the door and mics of his show “Brakus od 3 do 5” (ENG: Brakus from 15:00 to 17:00) to Bizar Bazar, “some kind of bizarre bazaar”. Bizar Bazar’s members, all dressed in stage costumes, were in full accordance with a mad atmosphere of this show. Through the interview, full of hilarious jokes, band members have spoken about their large personal stage experience and education, views on music that made this band come to life, babbitry that closes the doors for new ideas in Serbia, the fact that none of TV stations wanted to broadcast their first single video “Axe in the Honey”, future plans…
Accordion, acoustic guitar and vocal were just enough to create happy atmosphere in a small radio studio that was transferred and felt through airwaves.
First number they performed was a Vlach traditional song from Eastern Serbia “M’ndra mja” (ENG: My beautiful), with strange ancient lyrics mixing love and cannibalism.
“Axe in the Honey”, first single of Bizar Bazar, got a new meaning in this minimalistic performance.
Third live song “Tonight” was a total improvisation in a spirit of this radio show. It is a reggae cover of one of the biggest hits of Serbian folk, originally sung by Silvana Armenulic and written by legendary Toma Zdravkovic. Now, you can dance to the pathos of this song.
At this moment, Bizar Bizar has retreated to an isolated village in Eastern Serbia, known for its pure untouched natural resources and lack of modern means of communication technology. They are rehearsing and working towards perfect sound and rules of stage engagement, that will start to bring mayhem to the stages all over planet in 2013.
