Support for the artistic contest Planet ART
Balkan Music Box was one of the supporters of national artistic contest Planet ART organized by NGO What Do You Want in April 2012. 134 environmentally engaged artworks in various artistic media of authors from all over Serbia were sent to the organizer from 5th to 21st of April and the authors of best artworks were awarded in a concert ceremony in Belgrade’s suburbs Obrenovac on April 29, 2012.
Generally supporting the idea of engaged art and nourishing environmental consciousness as a part of its leading ideas, Balkan Music Box was thrilled to help the realization of the artistic contest for environmentally engaged artworks Planet ART. The fact that the whole contest happened in a global environmental network 350.org, and that our partnership with civil sector and NGO What Do You Want is a matter of common culture, were some of the other reasons for Balkan Music Box to take a part in this national action. Vladimir Lesic, director of Balkan Music Box, was member of a jury who chose best artworks in the following media: short story or a poem, b/w drawing by hand or a song by a band or a singer/songwriter. Large number and high quality of artworks received is a proof of a high environmental consciousness in Serbia.

Honorable mention: song by Sonja Agata Biscan (Zagreb, Croatia)

1. Poem “The Confession of a Polluter “ by Milos Ristic (Krusevac)
2. Poem “The Dragons of Ashes” by Dalibor Drekic (Borca)
3. Short story “The Secret” by Ivana Nesic (Belgrade)
Honorable mentions: poem by Filipa Huljev (Belgrade) and short story “What Do You Want?” by Dusan Arsenovic (Obrenovac)
